Dance your Hat and Gloves off

This is a game we will be doing at our Middle School Mayhem (VBS for middle schoolers) in a few weeks as an opener. I first saw it on the Jimmy Fallon show, which has become my new source for Youth Ministry games, and thought it would be a great one for Up-Front volunteer games.

To play, you simply bring up 3 volunteers who each get a beanie and a pair of dishwashing gloves. One at a time, contestants will do their best dance moves to dance their hat and gloves off of their head and hands. Contestants each get 15 seconds, and they get 1 point per glove they get off and 2 points for the hat. At no point can they touch any of the items or use a wall or floor to get an item off.

What’s your favorite new game you’ve done in your Youth Ministry over the last few weeks? We’d love for you to share it with us!

  1. We do a game as a mixer where each student gets a playing card. We call out poker hands from the front and the first group of students to come up with the hand wins something.
