For whatever reason, it seems like the Summer Months are always heavy with Youth Pastor transitions. Launching a Student Ministry with a New Youth Pastor seems like it has a greater success rate in the fall, so we totally understand the reasoning behind it, but the end result is that its still there, for good or bad, that right now a lot of Youth Pastors are leaving their context, either for greener pastures or new endeavors.
With that said, it somewhat seems like when applying for churches, everyone applies for the one that has the big numbers, the ones that seem the most successful. The last resort is sending in a resume to the church that doesn’t pay well in a podunk city with no youth attendance.
Whether or not your looking for a Youth Ministry job right now, we would love to hear your feedback on not just what kind of job you apply for when looking, but we view it more as a leadership mindset according to your strengths. Are you a builder or a maintainer?
