What was the best post you read all year?

Do you read Youth Ministry blogs? Sure you do, your reading this one right now!

We imagine you have read a lot of great content in the youth ministry blogosphere in this past year. Sometimes it seems like there is TOO much great content to read. So Most likely, you read an amazing post this year that we have not read, and we need you to share that information with us.

You see, we want to find the best Youth Ministry Blog post of 2011, and we can only do it with your help. If you read a great post this year that you think should be nominated, send the Name of the Blog and the url of the post to post@youthmin.org .

Starting next Tuesday, we will present our list of the top 32 blog posts of the year and we will whittle our way down until we find the fan favorite top post of 2011 on January 1st of 2012.

Not only will this person receive the honor of being “Fan Favorite Blog post of 2012,” but we also have some goodies for this person. Try over $500 worth of goodies for this person, in Books, iTunes gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, Exclusive Deal for Orange Conference Registration, Web hosting and blog design, and who knows what else!

Unfortunately, we can’t give away this much awesomeness without clarifying some rules.

1. You can not nominate your own blog post. Sorry, but thats just the way it is, besides, if your nominating your own blog post, who is going to vote for it?

2. Voting rounds will be (Round of 32) December 20th-22nd, (Sweet 16) December 23rd-26th, (elite 8 ) December 27th-28th and finally (Final 4) December 29th-30th.

3. One vote per person per round.

4. One post per blog in contest 4a. If multiple posts from the same Blog are submitted, the founders of this site will contact the author to confer on which post should represent his or her blog in the contest.

5. You can submit more than one blog post to be considered for the contest. But if we have more than 32, a panel will condense the list to 32.

And one final note, some blogs will be ruled out by the simple notion that they are too big time. Its not that we don’t love the big blogs, but rather, we are aiming to introduce others to the wonderful posts and blogs written by people that aren’t already staples in the Youth Ministry blogosphere.

Let the submitting begin!

  1. I would have to say that the best one I read, being the most applicable to me at this time in my life was Doug Fields' one entitles "Am I Busy, or Am I Really Afraid?". http://www.dougfields.com/posts/fearbusy/
  2. I haven't read many youth or student ministry blogs this year until today when I found this one. So that being said the best post I've read is probably "why 5 years is the ceiling for youth workers to be effective at one church" by Average Youth Ministry.
